Hair Transplant: An Effective Hair Growth therapy…

Remember a bald person saying “I do not consider myself to be bald; I am just taller than my hair!” This is how people make up their mind and console themselves when they lose all of their hairs. Youth age and good thick hair are two things which we take as granted, until they are gone from us. It is always advisable to take very good care of your hair. But, if you are already done with baldness; then it is better to go for a surgical technique called hair transplant, that involves moving individual hair follicles from one part of the body(the donor site) to bald part(the recipient site).
Hair transplant procedure:
The procedure of transplantation of hair is also called as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). In real this procedure is performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon first clears the scalp, and then injects an anesthetic to numb the area where a 3-4 inch strip of scalp is removed. Then he sets the strip of scalp aside and sews the scalp closed. This area is hidden by the surrounding hair immediately. Next the surgeon divides the strip of removed scalp in to 500-2000 tiny grafts containing an individual hair. After graft preparation, he cleans and numbs the recipient site where the hair is to be placed, punctures or creates holes with the help of a needle and delicately places each graft in one of the holes. He keeps a note of angling the wounds on a consistent fashion to promote a realistic hair pattern.
Recovery period after the Transplantation:
Though the procedure takes place for about 4-8 hours, the recovery period is really long and painful. You need to take pain killers for several days after the surgery and have to wear a surgical dressing over the scalp for a couple of days. Antibiotics may also be prescribed by your doctor.
Within 2-3 weeks of surgery, the transplanted hair fall out and you start noticing new growth of hair in few months. Your surgeon may also prescribe you with the hair growing drug (Rogaine) to improve hair growth after the hair transplantation.
Side effects of hair transplantation:
Various side effects of this surgical technique include:<br> • Bald patches are common
• Hair thinning known as “Shock loss” is a common side effect
• There is a minor swelling of the scalp and forehead.
Costs of Hair Transplant:
Now, as it is that nothing comes for free and easy; so as the hair transplant. The procedure of hair transplant involves huge amount of money. It generally ranges from $4,000 to $15, 000.
But if we take this saying “To gain something you have to lose something!” as a positive dose, then hair transplant cost won’t matter much when we get really natural looking hair in return.
Now all you baldooooooos. Get rid of that baldness and come up with handsome hair. :P
